Project Description / The project started by exploring the artistic representation of a city in a comic book which led to wide range of different ways of perceiving cities and its urban qualities through the eyes of the artist the second part was researching into nature specially nuts and fruits by looking for inspiration through the different qualities.

We have chosen the walnut to research more and look for inspiration qualities. The external shell of the walnut was the main inspiration for us to develop our initial design methodology, further on more qualities appeared as we continued exploration through the nut.

We started our design process by creating a surface that should have the same Qualities and feeling as the walnut shell had, the irregular natural appearance of the grooves and weaving which creates the interesting texture that covers the nut was achieved by pushing the limits in the available digital software "Maya", using all the available techniques from lofting to bridging to surface population helped in achieving the intended design qualities.

Further developing the achieved design sensibility to create cells that can be multiplied in a systematic ways in order to create a bigger clusters that has a specific special qualities.

Looking into the city of Barcelona to locate our project we found a lot of qualities in the city, through one thing which has great influence over the city famous architect Antonio Gaudi, his architecture and artistic test has influenced the Catalan city for a long time know so we decided to have some relation in our project to relate to his influence to the city through one of his buildings "Casa Mila".

We have chosen to locate our project in front of Gaudi's famous Casa Mila, as the building is located in the heart of the city located on one of the major streets in Barcelona "passeig de gracia".

The idea is to benefit from locating our project in front of a touristic place like Casa Mila so the people can interact more with our project and benefit from it and that was basically the main idea of our project.
